2. Brief description of the modules
This module introduces first-year students to the basic principles of Medical Physics, including: physical principles of radiation, atomic and nuclear structure, interaction of radiation with biological systems, biological effects and principles of radiation protection, applications in diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT, nuclear medicine, MRI) and in radiotherapy (external beam, brachytherapy).
This module focuses on the balance between theory and practical application, helping students have a foundation for further study in advanced subjects while providing an overview of the interdisciplinary field of Medical Physics.
