2. Brief description of the modules
This course provides foundational knowledge of the physical principles that govern biological systems, with a particular focus on applications in nuclear engineering and medical physics. Students will learn how concepts such as thermodynamics, molecular interactions, mechanics, and radiation physics are applied to the structure and function of living organisms, as well as how to utilize biomedical physics analysis methods and techniques (including spectroscopy, microscopy, medical imaging, and radiotherapy). The course emphasizes the interaction of radiation with biological tissues, DNA damage and repair mechanisms, and radiation safety principles in nuclear medicine and related fields.
