2. Brief description of the modules
The course covers safety issues, principles of defence in depth. It presents major accident scenarios, probabilistic and deterministic analysis methods. It introduces safety systems, methods of ensuring their reliability. It reviews human factors, different types of equipment failures, accident experiences in nuclear power plants, classification of accidents in nuclear power plants and safety culture.
