2. Brief description of the modules

This course aims to demonstrate the fundamental role and applications of quantum mechanics in modern physics and science, including lasers, quantum optics, quantum computing/information, elementary particles, nuclear physics, and condensed matter/materials science. The course covers fundamental concepts and topics in quantum mechanics such as wave functions, the uncertainty principle, the Schrödinger equation, selected problems, the mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics, spin, and systems of identical particles.
