- Brief description of the modules
This course equips students with specialized knowledge in crystalline materials, covering the following topics: morphological foundations of crystals; point symmetry groups and space groups of crystals; crystallographic notation and crystal structures; crystal defects; X-ray diffraction for crystal structure analysis; physical properties of crystals and their dependence on symmetry or crystal structure. These fundamental concepts enable students to analyze the formation conditions of thin film and bulk crystalline materials, laying the groundwork for hands-on experiments in creating specific material products and initial quality analysis in subsequent courses.
