- Brief description of the modules
"This course provides students with specialized knowledge related to semiconductor materials and their applications. The course covers topics such as energy band structure in semiconductors, and optical properties of semiconductors (absorption and emission processes in semiconductors). Several optical methods for studying semiconductors, such as transmission, reflection, and photoluminescence, will be discussed. The photoelectric properties of some prominent semiconductors will also be explored. Typical optoelectronic devices such as diodes, photodiodes, and transistors will be introduced. This course also helps students to familiarize themselves with group formation, teamwork, and presentation skills, thereby laying a solid foundation in semiconductor materials and enhancing students' presentation skills for their thesis and graduation projects.
