    1. Brief description of the modules

This course aims to provide students with specialized knowledge about the interactions between electrons, photons, and matter, and the signals emitted from samples used in analytical methods. Through this course, students will acquire knowledge about the structure, operating principles, and applications of specific methods to identify sample properties (using UV-VIS spectroscopy to determine absorption, transmission, reflection, and bandgap of semiconductors, PL spectroscopy to determine energy band structure and impurity levels in nanomaterials, STM and AFM to determine surface properties and quantum confinement, SEM and TEM to determine morphology, composition, and impurities, XRD to determine crystallinity, Hall effect measurement to measure conductivity, carrier concentration, and mobility in semiconductors, and XPS to determine bonding and impurities). This course also helps students become familiar with specialized English terminology, access international research papers, and develop teamwork, presentation, and critical thinking skills, thereby laying a solid foundation for students to engage in real scientific research projects in their graduation thesis
