The course has four main parts, covering both theory and practice:
Theory: students acquire a full grounding in risk-assessment procedures, hazard identification and the corrective measures used when operating equipment.
Practice: students develop practical skills in drafting operating procedures and emergency-response procedures, and in carrying out risk and hazard assessments.
The theory is taught to the whole class, while practical work is done in groups.
