2. Module objectives/intended learning outcomes
This course provides students with fundamental knowledge of electrical machines, electrical equipment, control circuits, motor starting methods, and electrical safety. Students will learn to classify, understand the construction and operating principles of, and select electrical devices such as induction motors, stepper motors, relays, and low-voltage switching devices.
The course also introduces students to common electrical control circuits and the principles of industrial electrical safety. Upon completion, students will be able to use, wire, analyze, and select appropriate electrical equipment for residential and industrial applications.
