2. Module objectives/intended learning outcomes

This course provides students with theoretical foundations and practical skills in robot programming and control using the Robot Operating System (ROS). Students will gain hands-on experience ranging from ROS installation and configuration to the use of development and simulation tools such as RViz and Gazebo.

The course covers the development of ROS nodes, publishers/subscribers, services, and actions, as well as the integration of sensors and control of physical robots. The course concludes with a team-based project in which students design and implement a robot control system in either a simulated or real-world environment.
