2. Module objectives/intended learning outcomes
This course provides students with specialized knowledge of Design for Testability (DFT) and its application to the testing stages of integrated circuit (IC) design. The course covers the role and significance of DFT in IC design, as well as common faults that may arise in combinational logic circuits and clock-synchronous circuits.
Students will learn methodologies for designing and implementing test circuits based on the initial design, gaining an understanding of how testability considerations are incorporated into the IC design process.
In addition to technical knowledge, the course develops students’ teamwork and communication skills through group formation, collaborative work, technical reporting, and presentations. These activities help students build a strong foundation in semiconductor-related knowledge and enhance their presentation skills, preparing them for capstone projects, thesis research, and final graduation projects.
