Bachelor’s Thesis Defense in Electronic Physics Technology and Informatics: A Milestone in the Development of the Program

On July 17, 2026, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, VNUHCM–University of Science successfully organized the Bachelor’s Thesis Defense Ceremony for the first cohort of students in the Electronic Physics Technology and Informatics program, admitted in 2022.

This was the first cohort of students in the program to undertake and defend their bachelor’s theses, marking a significant milestone in the establishment and continued development of the academic program. A total of 40 students presented their research before four thesis defense committees, with projects covering a broad range of research directions and highlighting the program’s strongly interdisciplinary character. Research topics encompassed automation, robotics, materials science, electronics, computer science, optics, and photonics.

During the defense sessions, students demonstrated confidence, academic maturity, and research capabilities through the presentation of their findings, academic discussions, and responses to questions and critical comments from the committees. The defense committees conducted their evaluations with professionalism, rigor, and objectivity, while providing insightful academic feedback and constructive recommendations. These discussions not only supported students in further refining their research projects but also contributed to strengthening their scientific research competencies and academic presentation skills.

The thesis defense represented more than the culmination of students’ undergraduate learning and research journey. It also served as an important reflection of the quality and interdisciplinary orientation of the Electronic and Informatics Physics Technology program. The successful completion of this inaugural thesis defense provides a strong foundation for the program’s continued development and its mission to prepare high-quality human resources capable of meeting the evolving demands of industry and society in high-tech fields.

The Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics warmly congratulates all graduating students on successfully reaching this important milestone. We wish the new graduates continued success in their future academic pursuits, research endeavors, and professional careers, and hope that the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained throughout their studies will serve as a strong foundation for their continued growth and contributions to science and technology.
