The National Physics Olympiad for University Students is one of the most prestigious academic competitions for Physics majors across the country. Organised by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Vietnam Physical Society and participating universities, the competition has, over the years, become a gathering place for young scientific talents, promoting academic passion, creativity, and research enthusiasm among university students nationwide.

This year’s SPhO 27 brought together 43 teams representing universities and academies across the country, with 213 students and more than 100 lecturers participating in academic support. Teams competed in three highly challenging categories: Multiple Choice, Problem Solving, and Experimental Physics. These components require not only a strong theoretical foundation but also systematic reasoning, creativity, and the ability to handle practical experimental situations. Notably, students winning First, Second, or Third Prizes in the competition are eligible for benefits when applying to state agencies and public institutions under Decree 140/2017/NĐ-CP.

The University of Science team was selected through rigorous internal academic rounds and received intensive training from the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics. The delegation included Dr. Nguyen Tri Toan Phuc (Team Leader), MSc. Nguyen Ngoc Truong (Deputy Leader), and five students. With disciplined preparation, perseverance, and well-structured coaching, the team entered SPhO 27 with confidence and delivered outstanding results.
