On November 11, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a letter of commendation for the presentation of Certificates of Merit to 400 exemplary teachers and educational administrators on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20.
In this regard, the University of Ho Chi Minh City has three educators recognized as exemplary teachers in the education sector for 40 years. They are: Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen - Outstanding Artist, Director of the Center for Strategic Research and Policy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Prof. Dr. Chau Van Tao - Outstanding Artist, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics, University of Natural Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Phuc - Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Information Systems, University of Information Technology.
Prof. Dr. Chau Van Tao has 39 years of experience in the education sector. During this time, he has successfully trained over 50 master's students and 7 Ph.D. students; carried out more than 10 national-level projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade; published over 30 articles in international journals (ISI); authored 2 reference books, 8 textbooks for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and 2 popular science books.
He served as the Vice Rector of the University of Sciences from 2007 to 2012, responsible for scientific research. He has actively promoted the international publication of the university's teaching staff, integrated scientific research into community service, and signed cooperation agreements on scientific research for community service with research institutes in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Southwest region.
For these contributions, Prof. Dr. Chau Van Tao has been honored with numerous notable titles and commendations, including Excellent Teacher (2008), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2016), Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training (2009), Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Science and Technology (2015), Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (2016), National University Hero (2007, 2015), and Ministry of Education and Training Commendation Hero (2016).
