On June 14, 2025, the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, University of Science, VNU-HCM, in collaboration with the Vietnam Society of Excellence (VSE), organized a series of specialized professional skills workshops. The program aimed to equip students, especially final-year students in under-enrolled fundamental science majors, with essential soft skills to confidently enter the labor market.
Morning Workshop: “CV Writing, Email Etiquette, and Personal Branding”
The guest speaker was Mr. Lưu Hoàng Minh Khoa, Key Account Manager at Pfizer Vietnam, who brings over 25 years of experience in teaching and working at multinational pharmaceutical corporations.
During the session, students learned how to craft a professional and compelling CV, write business-standard emails, and apply foundational principles of personal branding. Beyond technical skills, the speaker emphasized the importance of showcasing personality and personal storytelling in job applications - an element that helps candidates stand out in the eyes of employers.
Afternoon Workshop: “Workplace Communication Skills”
The afternoon session was led by two seasoned professionals: Ms. Nguyễn Thủy, CEO of NBC PACIFIC Co., Ltd., and Ms. Trần Đoàn Viên, Senior Director of Data & Customer Analytics at POC Pharma.
Through interactive activities and real-world scenarios, students developed effective communication skills applicable in both academic and professional settings. Topics included confident public speaking, the art of articulating ideas, professional verbal and written communication, and identifying key traits that help build a trustworthy and positive personal image in the workplace.
This workshop series not only provided practical knowledge and skills but also offered students valuable opportunities for self-assessment and career orientation - laying a solid foundation for their job search and future professional growth.
