Recently, the USAC Astronomy Club under the Faculty of Physics & Engineering Physics, University of Science, VNU-HCM - made a remarkable appearance at the 2025 Space Science Festival, a flagship event within the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Innovation Festival.
With meticulous preparation and engaging content, the USAC booth quickly became one of the event's most popular attractions. Designed as a "miniature universe" in the heart of the festival, the booth drew in hundreds of visitors, including students, parents, and teachers, by offering a variety of hands-on and educational activities.
Key highlights at the booth included:
- Solar Observation through a Specialized Telescope: A rare opportunity for participants to witness the fascinating features of our Solar System firsthand.
- Interactive Astronomy Games such as "Rotating Star Map," "Build Your Own Sundial," and "Space Knowledge Challenge" blended entertainment with scientific learning, sparking curiosity and critical thinking.
- Open Space Q&A with Club Members: A casual and inspiring exchange where complex astronomical knowledge was shared in an approachable and engaging way.
Minh Tuyet, a student from Tran Phu High School, shared her excitement: "Despite the wide range of exhibits, I made it a point to visit the Space Science Festival area first. It was my first time using a telescope, building model rockets, and exploring black hole experiments. The most memorable part was talking with university students and experts in the field - it was an eye-opening and inspiring experience."
These activities not only fueled a passion for space exploration but also introduced STEM knowledge in a tangible, creative way-encouraging the younger generation to pursue science with confidence and curiosity.
With the motto "Spreading the Passion for Astronomy," the USAC Astronomy Club has long been recognized as a leading student organization in academic and science outreach activities at HCMUS. Participation in large-scale events like the 2025 Space Science Festival not only showcases the club's expertise and innovative spirit but also reinforces the important role students play in cultivating a dynamic and science-loving community.
