On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the USAC Astronomy Club at VNU-HCM University of Science received an invitation to attend the "5th Innovation - Technology Festival" organized by the Center for Science, Technology, and Young Talent Development (CYTAST), which operates under the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. At this festival, the USAC Club took part in organizing experiential activities aimed at teaching participants about the Universe and Astronomy.
With the goal of sharing knowledge and fostering a passion for Astronomy within the community, the USAC Club set up telescopes. This allowed attendees to learn about the operating mechanisms of telescopes and observe the Sun. In addition, the club featured engaging activities such as a Q&A session focused on "Physics and Astronomy," showcased a model of the "Michelson Interferometer," and provided an opportunity to experience a "Sundial." These activities were designed to impart useful and interesting knowledge about Physics, with a particular emphasis on Astronomy.
This year's festival theme, "Unlocking the Power of AI," offered young people the chance to understand and effectively utilize this technology. The event also attracted various units that organized experiential spaces and exhibited cutting-edge products aligned with current technology trends. Furthermore, the festival served as a creative platform that helped participants enhance their soft skills such as teamwork, presentation abilities, and critical thinking. It promoted the development of STEM education and knowledge related to Astronomy, science, technology, and innovation, while also encouraging the learning and application of AI tools for educational purposes.
Finally, the USAC Astronomy Club would like to express gratitude to the Center for Science, Technology, and Young Talent Development (CYTAST) for their trust and invitation to participate in the festival. The USAC Astronomy Club remains committed to its mission of spreading enthusiasm and knowledge about Physics and Astronomy to students and the broader community.
