[ACTIVITY] ORGANIZING CAREFUL TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL SUPPLEMENT FOR STUDENTS BEFORE GRADUATION

SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION AND SOLVING CHALLENGES RELATED TO USING MATLAB IN DATA SCIENCE

Developing and maintaining human resources training in the field of basic science, improving the quality of training and research in Physics is a very necessary task for the current 4.0 revolution. Recently, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics has implemented the activity "Organizing teaching supplementary professional skills for students before graduation" to equip career skills for students in the majors of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, thereby helping students find professional and stable jobs after graduation, increasing the attractiveness of the field of study to society.

The seminar program also creates conditions for lecturers, graduate students, graduate students and students of the Faculty to improve their professional skills, expertise, knowledge and skills. Promote creative ideas and specific solutions that can be applied to teaching, research and learning.

The first lesson with the topic Introducing and solving challenges related to using Matlab in data science took place from 08:45 to 11:30 on June 20, 2023 at Room F301, University of Sciences, Vietnam National University - HCMC, No. 227 Nguyen Van Cu, Ward 4, District 5, HCMC.

On behalf of the representative of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, Associate Professor. Dr. Huynh Van Tuan, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, gave the opening speech of the activity "Organizing teaching supplementary professional skills for students before graduation" as follows: "...with the speed of development In the rapid pace of today's society, it is very important to support students to equip students with practical experiences, knowledge, and perspectives from companies and businesses early. The Faculty's leadership always learns, expands and develops every day so that students studying majors in the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics can become highly specialized human resources, full of both talent and ethics. serving the development of society and the country.”

Regarding the representative of Ascendas Systems Company, there were three presenters participating, including: Mr. Bao Nguyen - Principal Application Engineer at MathWorks, US; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Application Engineer; Mr. Ha Van Ky - Sales Account Manager. The presenters presented shared content introducing the company Ascendas Systems, introducing the Campus-Wide License software package for MathWorks' educational purposes, and MathWorks' Public courses. Engineer Nguyen Van Hung helped students understand the process of using MATLAB in predictive maintenance: Learn common steps in creating machine learning algorithms, get acquainted with applications for preprocessing data, signal processing with MATLAB for earthquake data, thereby examining the time domain and frequency domain properties of seismic signals. In addition, Mr. Bao Nguyen gives students a practical perspective at the enterprise, helping them understand that Model-Based Design provides a mathematical and intuitive approach to developing complex, focused systems. on the systematic use of models throughout the development process for requirements specification, system architecture modeling, design implementation, simulation, automated code generation, verification and validation.
