Fulbright Scholarship
Established in 1946 with funding from the US Congress, the Fulbright program aims to increase mutual understanding through cultural and educational exchange. Two full scholarship programs are accepting applications:
1. Fulbright Fellows Scholarship: This year marks the first time that the Fulbright Fellows Scholarship is available in Vietnam. The program will award a maximum of 5 full, non-degree scholarships to Vietnamese citizens enrolled in a PhD program in science and technology at a Vietnamese institution. The recipients will have the opportunity to study at US universities for 6-10 months within the US academic year (from August to May). Scholarship recipients will work with a professor at a US university, not taking for-credit classes, and will receive monthly living expenses, health insurance throughout their studies, and round-trip airfare between Vietnam and the United States.

2. Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA): The FLTA is a fully funded, non-degree, nine-month program open to full-time teachers of English and those who work in related professional roles. Applicants should have no more than 7 years of teaching experience in teaching their native language at a university or college in the United States.
The FLTA Scholarship nominates a maximum of five (5) official candidates and two (2) alternate candidates from Vietnam. This scholarship includes round-trip airfare to the United States, monthly living expenses, health insurance, and free tuition for required subjects. Fulbright FLTA participants will serve as teaching assistants in language classes for up to twenty hours a week and are required to enroll in at least two courses per semester, including one related to American Studies. ed to enroll in at least two courses per semester, including one related to American Studies.
The program is for eligible candidates with Vietnamese nationality (not dual nationality), and residing in Vietnam throughout the application process; have at least 1 university degree; Currently working as an English teacher or in a related field with no more than 7 years of teaching experience; Have a valid English score, minimum TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 110 or TOEFL Essentials 8.5.
