On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and in the context of Vietnam’s renewed efforts to restart its nuclear power development program, the Faculty of Physics & Engineering Physics is organizing the Workshop on Energy and Nuclear Power in Vietnam.
The workshop aims to update current orientations and development strategies in nuclear energy, while providing an academic platform for professional exchange and collaboration among scientists, policymakers, industry representatives, and research organizations both domestically and internationally. The event also seeks to discuss solutions for human resource development and to outline research and training directions in nuclear science and technology in Vietnam for the coming period.

2. Program Highlights
The workshop program will include professional sessions and in-depth discussions, specifically:
- Opening session
- Morning and afternoon scientific sessions, featuring presentations on key topics such as advanced reactor technologies, workforce demand and development strategies for the nuclear sector, nuclear engineering, applications of radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, radiation safety, and nuclear safety.
- Panel discussion, focusing on the roles of research institutes, universities, and hospitals in preparing scientific, technological, and human resources for Vietnam’s nuclear power program.

3. Speakers and Participating Organizations
The workshop is expected to feature more than ten invited presentations from experts and representatives of prestigious national and international organizations, including the Japan International Nuclear Energy Development of Japan Co., Ltd. (JINED), the Korean Nuclear Association (KNA), Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS), the Laboratoire National Henri Becquerel (LNHB), the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), and the KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS), along with representatives from research institutes, medical institutions, and enterprises from Vietnam and abroad.
The workshop is expected to foster valuable academic exchanges, provide updates on emerging technological trends, and promote research and training collaboration in the field of nuclear energy and technology in Vietnam.
