On September 25, 2026, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, VNUHCM–University of Science, hosted the seminar “Frontier Research & Your Path to UTokyo,” providing students with an opportunity to explore emerging research directions in advanced materials and technologies while learning about academic and research opportunities at one of the world’s leading institutions, The University of Tokyo (UTokyo).

Exploring Frontier Research in Science and Technology
The seminar introduced students to a range of research areas at the forefront of contemporary science and technology, including semiconductor materials, quantum materials, spintronics, and next-generation devices.
Through expert presentations and direct discussions, students gained broader perspectives on current developments in materials science and advanced technologies, as well as a deeper understanding of the role of interdisciplinary research in driving technological innovation.

Discovering Graduate Study and Research Opportunities at UTokyo
Beyond scientific insights, the seminar provided practical information about the research environment at The University of Tokyo, graduate programs, scholarship opportunities, internships, and pathways for academic development in an international research setting.
The session also offered students an opportunity to learn more about potential academic and research pathways after graduation, helping them better understand how to prepare for future study and research opportunities abroad.

From Academic Connections to Future Pathways
The discussions and exchanges during the seminar not only broadened students’ understanding of emerging research fields but also encouraged them to develop a stronger research mindset and actively explore international academic opportunities.
Through continued engagement with international universities and research institutions, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics is creating more opportunities for students to access new knowledge, engage in academic exchange, and develop their professional and research pathways in an increasingly interconnected scientific and technological landscape.
“Frontier Research & Your Path to UTokyo” thus served as a meaningful platform for connecting students with frontier research and broadening their horizons toward future graduate study and research opportunities in the international academic community.
