On April 10, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM-US), had the honor of welcoming a delegation of professors from Soongsil University, Chonnam National University, and Hanyang University (Republic of Korea) as part of an academic exchange program aimed at fostering international research collaboration.
During the meeting, representatives of the Faculty provided an overview of its organizational structure, academic programs, and key research directions, with particular emphasis on Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering, and Medical Physics. The information shared offered the visiting delegation a comprehensive understanding of the Faculty’s educational and research capacities, as well as its strong potential for international collaboration in an increasingly globalized academic environment.
As part of the program, Professor Cheoun Myung-Ki delivered a presentation on Soongsil University and the research activities of the OMEG Institute. This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Choi Jiyeong of the Center for Precision Neutrino Research, who introduced research applications of Monte Carlo simulation in the field of Medical Physics. These presentations provided valuable scientific insights and facilitated meaningful academic discussions between the two sides.
The meeting not only helped strengthen the cooperative relationship between the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics and universities and research institutes in the Republic of Korea, but also laid the groundwork for future collaborative opportunities, particularly in research areas related to nuclear energy and advanced applications.
This visit stands as a clear testament to the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to expand international collaboration, with the aim of enhancing training quality, advancing research activities, and deepening academic connections with prestigious partners worldwide.
