On the afternoon of March 5, 2025, the University of Science, VNU-HCM hosted the Signing Ceremony of the Sponsorship Agreement for the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Laboratory, in collaboration with RedSun Solar Energy Joint Stock Company (REDSUN).

The establishment of the UAV Laboratory marks a significant milestone in advancing research and applications of UAV technology in Vietnam. The lab will focus on cutting-edge technological fields, including:
- Renewable energy – optimizing UAV technology for monitoring and managing solar and wind power systems
- Electrical engineering and artificial intelligence – developing autonomous flight systems and AI-driven UAV control
- Smart agriculture – utilizing UAVs for precision farming, crop monitoring, and optimizing agricultural productivity
Beyond research, the laboratory will provide students, researchers, and faculty with hands-on experience in UAV technology, fostering interdisciplinary and international collaborations. However, for effective operations, UAVs must obtain proper flight permits, comply with safety standards, and have designated testing spaces.
During the event, representatives from HCMUS and REDSUN emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaboration in promoting scientific research, technological innovation, and real-world applications. This partnership is not only a crucial milestone for the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, but also opens new avenues for cooperation, bridging academic research with industry needs and societal demands.
