1. General introduction
The Physics major under the Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics of the University of Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, is one of the traditional training majors with a long history and significant achievements. This major not only provides basic and in-depth knowledge in the fields of physics but also equips students with practical, research and application skills in life and technology.

2. Facilities and teaching staff
The Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics is equipped with modern laboratories, serving teaching and research activities. The laboratories include mechanical, electronic, geophysical, and nuclear laboratories, along with advanced equipment such as particle accelerators, geophysical monitoring systems, simulation software, computer room systems and high-capacity computing systems.
The faculty of the Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics are leading experts in the field of physics, with many years of teaching and research experience. They are not only professionally good but also enthusiastic and dedicated, always ready to support students in their studies and research.
3. Industry orientations
The industry's training program consists of 4 years of study and is divided into two phases. In phase 1, learners will be equipped with general knowledge and industry foundations in years 1 and 2. In phase 2, learners will choose an industry orientation and carry out a graduation thesis in years 3 and 4. Physics major Physics has two major orientations to develop job opportunities after graduation; Physics orientation and Engineering Physics orientation, this article will specifically introduce the Physics orientation. In the physics orientation, learners can choose subject groups according to topic directions such as Theoretical Physics, Geophysics and Nuclear Physics.
- Theoretical physics:
Theoretical physics is the foundation of all physics research, focusing on developing mathematical models and theories to explain physical phenomena from the microscopic to the macroscopic. Learners will learn basic subjects such as Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Thermal Statistics. In addition, specialized subjects such as Quantum Field Theory, Particle Physics, and Theoretical Solid State Physics are also taught. Graduates can work at research institutes, and universities, or continue higher education to become professional scientists. They can also participate in high-tech research and development projects at businesses.
- Geophysics
Geophysics studies physical phenomena related to Earth and the planets, including seismology, Earth's magnetic field, and geological processes. Learners are equipped with knowledge about Seismology, Geophysics, Earth's Magnetic Field, and Earth's Crust Dynamics. Students are also trained in geophysical data analysis and monitoring methods. Graduates may work in Earth science research agencies, oil and gas companies, or natural resource monitoring and management organizations. They can also participate in research projects on climate change and environmental protection.
- Nuclear Physics
Nuclear physics studies phenomena related to atomic nuclei and their applications in energy, medicine and industry. The training program includes subjects such as Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Reactions, Radiation Physics, and Radiation Safety. Students will also learn about the technologies and applications of nuclear physics in various fields. Graduates can work at nuclear power plants, hospitals with nuclear medicine equipment, or science and technology research institutes. They can also participate in projects to develop safe and sustainable nuclear technology.
