Major Orientation Day – Guiding the academic and career pathways of the 2024 cohort

SDG4

To support students in selecting their specializations and developing well-informed academic pathways, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, University of Science, VNUHCM, organized Major Orientation Day for students of the 2024 cohort.

The event provided an opportunity for students to explore academic specializations, research directions, and career prospects, enabling them to make informed decisions aligned with their interests, strengths, and long-term aspirations.

The program featured two main activities:

1. Laboratory Tours and Departmental Exploration

Students had the opportunity to visit laboratories across the Faculty's seven academic departments, gaining firsthand insights into research facilities, specialized equipment, ongoing research activities, and practical applications. These visits provided a clearer understanding of the academic and research environments associated with each specialization.

2. Specialization Presentations and Interactive Discussions with Faculty Members

Representatives from the academic departments introduced their respective curricula, specialized courses, research opportunities, internship pathways, career prospects, and postgraduate study options. Students also engaged directly with the Faculty's leadership and academic staff to discuss specialization choices and future academic and professional development.

Major Orientation Day served not only as an informative academic event but also as a platform for strengthening connections between students and faculty members, inspiring scientific curiosity, and broadening perspectives on career opportunities in physics and technology.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students throughout their academic and research journeys, while fostering the development of highly qualified graduates equipped to contribute to scientific and technological advancement and international integration.
