Major Orientation Day for Students of the Advanced English Program in Physics

In order to support students of the Advanced English Program in Physics in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the specialized departments and to help them choose a major that aligns with their abilities, interests, and future career orientation, the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics will organize the “Major Orientation Day and Major Registration Guidance Program” on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The program is designed with various experiential activities, laboratory visits, and direct consultation sessions, providing students with opportunities to explore the academic and research environment of each specialized department, while also gaining deeper insights into training orientations, career opportunities, and academic pathways during the major phase of study.

During the morning session, Physics students from the 2024 cohort will be divided into seven groups to visit the laboratory systems of the Faculty’s seven departments. At each department, lecturers and academic staff will introduce the department’s faculty members, research facilities and laboratory equipment, major research directions, collaborations with companies and international partners, as well as career, internship, and overseas study opportunities after graduation.

In the afternoon, the program “Major Introduction and Major Registration Guidance” will be held at Hall I for all 2024 Physics students. Representatives from each department will provide detailed introductions to their respective majors, academic curricula, research orientations, and the specialized skills required in each field.

In addition, the Faculty’s Academic Affairs Office will guide students through the major registration process, provide advice on selecting suitable majors, and suggest effective study plans for the specialized stage of the program. Students will also have opportunities to directly interact, ask questions, and discuss with the Faculty Board and lecturers to clarify matters related to the curriculum and career orientation.

The afternoon session will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM on May 9, 2026, at Hall I.

The Major Orientation Day is an important activity aimed at supporting students in building their academic and career development pathways. The program also demonstrates the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics’ commitment to strengthening the connection between education, research, and career orientation for students from the early years of university study.
