The National Student Physics Olympiad is one of Vietnam’s most prestigious academic competitions for university students with a passion for Physics. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Vietnam Physical Society and participating universities. Over the years, the Olympiad has become a prominent platform bringing together outstanding young talents from across the country while fostering academic excellence, creativity, and a strong spirit of scientific inquiry among university students.

This year, SPhO 27 brought together 43 teams representing universities and academies nationwide, with 213 students and more than 100 lecturers providing academic and professional support. Competitors participated in three highly challenging categories: Multiple-Choice, Problem Solving, and Experimental Physics. These components required not only a strong and comprehensive foundation in Physics but also systematic thinking, creativity, and the ability to address practical challenges in experimental settings.
Notably, students winning First, Second, or Third Prizes at the competition may be eligible for preferential consideration when applying for positions at state agencies and public service units in accordance with Decree No. 140/2017/ND-CP.
The VNUHCM–University of Science team was selected through a series of internal academic qualifying rounds and received intensive training and mentoring from the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics. The delegation comprised Dr. Nguyễn Trí Toàn Phúc (Team Leader), Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Trường (Deputy Team Leader), and five students.
