Seminar “Engineering Education Technology, Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation in Accordance with German Standards”: Bridging Education, Technology, and Industry Needs

On August 10, as part of the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), and Festo, the seminar “Engineering Education Technology, Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation in Accordance with German Standards” was held, providing a forum for discussions on emerging technological trends and directions for advancing engineering education in the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

At the seminar, Mr. Truong Ngoc Hoang, Director of Festo Didactic Vietnam, introduced an overview of Festo and shared insights into the latest technologies in engineering education, as well as training solutions aligned with the practical requirements of modern industry. These insights provided faculty members and students with a broader perspective on the rapid development of technology and the increasingly demanding requirements for engineering professionals in the digital era.

A key focus of the seminar was on Industry 4.0, semiconductor technology, and digital transformation in education. These areas are having a profound impact on manufacturing, research, and education, while also creating new requirements for equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and practical competencies needed to adapt to a rapidly changing technological landscape. Through the industry perspectives shared at the seminar, students had the opportunity to gain closer exposure to technologies being applied in real-world settings and develop a better understanding of the workforce needs of the labor market.

The seminar also featured discussions on the development of practical training facilities and academic programs in accordance with German standards. Strengthening investment in educational infrastructure, innovating training approaches, and incorporating international standards into academic programs are considered essential steps toward enhancing students’ practical competencies, technological adaptability, and professional capabilities.

For students, the seminar was not only an opportunity to update their knowledge but also provided a valuable platform for direct engagement with industry, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of emerging technologies, professional expectations, and the competencies required for their future careers.
