With the aim of helping students gain a deeper understanding of the impact of social media on mental health, the Faculty of Physics & Engineering Physics, University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) organized a special seminar titled “Social Media – Opportunities and challenges for youth mental health” on October 19, 2025, attracting a large number of student participants.
The seminar was led by Ms. Phạm Thị Thanh Quí – Clinical Psychologist, Director of the TOMOE Center for Applied Psychological Science, and Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Communication and Sports, Van Hien University. With an engaging, empathetic, and practical approach, Ms. Quí offered insightful perspectives on the dual impacts of social media on mental health while sharing effective strategies for maintaining healthy and mindful online behaviors.

Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, students learned how to identify signs of psychological stress, manage emotions effectively, and maintain a healthy balance between virtual and real-life interactions. The atmosphere was lively and open, filled with thoughtful questions, sincere sharing, and meaningful stories that encouraged participants to better understand themselves and take proactive care of their mental well-being.
The program not only provided valuable knowledge but also inspired students to cultivate self-awareness, empathy, and emotional balance - recognizing that mental stability is a cornerstone of sustainable growth in the digital era.

The seminar concluded on a warm and positive note, leaving behind meaningful reflections and lasting impressions.
