Seminar: Automation and Intelligent control

On September 18, 2025, the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, University of Science successfully organized a seminar titled “Automation and Intelligent control”, presented by Dr. Trần Thanh Phong. The event attracted the attention of faculty members, students, and those passionate about control technology and automation.

The seminar focused on key research directions and outstanding applications in the era of Industry 4.0:

- Power system optimization: Applying intelligent algorithms (GA, PSO, GWO, etc.) for frequency and voltage control, contributing to enhanced grid stability, microgrids, and renewable energy systems.

- Linear & nonlinear control: Advanced methods such as SMC, Adaptive, Fuzzy/Neural, and Robust control, applied from power systems to robotics, effectively bridging theory with practice.

- PLC, SCADA & HMI: Designing centralized monitoring and control systems integrated with IoT and Smart Grid/Factory, alongside building laboratories aligned with Industry 4.0.

- CNC: Optimizing and automating CNC machines to improve precision, productivity, and workforce training in mechanical and automation engineering.

- Robotic arms: Applying advanced control algorithms in industrial, medical, and service sectors, aiming toward the development of practical products.

Beyond delivering in-depth knowledge and practical insights, the seminar also underscored the strategic orientation of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics in bridging research, training, and application. This initiative marks an important step in cultivating high-quality human resources, well-prepared to meet the demands of the Industry 4.0 era.
