On October 16, 2026, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics, University of Science, VNU-HCM, held a working meeting with representatives from Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity to explore opportunities for collaboration in education, scientific research, and human resource development in nuclear physics, nuclear power, and energy-related fields.

Representing Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity were MSc. Nguyen Minh Quang, Vice Rector; MSc. Le Minh Canh, Head of the Academic Affairs Office; MSc. Vo Thanh Viet, Deputy Head of Faculty; and MSc. Nguyen Huu Khoa, Lecturer in Nuclear Power.

Representing the University of Science, VNU-HCM were Assoc. Prof. Vo Hong Hai, PhD, Deputy Head of the Office of External Relations; Assoc. Prof. Tran Thien Thanh, PhD, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics; and Assoc. Prof. Le Cong Hao, PhD, Head of the Nuclear Engineering Laboratory, together with faculty members from the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics.

During the meeting, representatives of both institutions exchanged insights into their academic capabilities, areas of expertise, and potential avenues for collaboration. Discussions emphasized leveraging their respective strengths to enhance educational quality and strengthen the integration of academic knowledge with practical applications in the energy sector.

Key areas of discussion included the joint development and enhancement of academic curricula, practical training in nuclear safety and reactor technology, and knowledge exchange in electrical power systems and power plant operations. The two institutions also explored opportunities to facilitate educational visits to thermal power plants, enabling students to gain firsthand exposure to industrial environments.

In addition, both parties discussed potential collaboration in scientific research, student internship supervision, and undergraduate thesis projects, with the aim of strengthening students' technical competencies, practical skills, and career readiness.

Building on these discussions, the two institutions expressed their intention to work toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and/or a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), establishing a framework for future collaborative initiatives.

The meeting marked a positive step toward strengthening institutional ties and leveraging complementary expertise. It also opened up promising opportunities for sustained collaboration in education, research, and highly skilled workforce development, contributing to the growing demand for qualified professionals in nuclear physics, nuclear power, and the energy sector in Vietnam.
