On the afternoon of June 17, the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics and the Faculty of Geology, University of Science, VNU-HCM, welcomed a delegation from the National University of Laos as part of a working visit and academic exchange aimed at enhancing bilateral collaboration.
The visit provided a valuable platform for in-depth dialogue and connection between academic units, with a focus on the fields of physics, geology, and engineering—disciplines that play a strategic role in education and research, particularly in countries undergoing industrialization, modernization, and pursuing sustainable development.
During the working session, the two institutions discussed and agreed upon key areas for strengthening cooperation, including: renewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU); advancing the scope of collaboration from faculty-level to university-level; developing joint postgraduate training programs; promoting the exchange of students, researchers, and faculty members; implementing scholarship programs and proposing joint research projects; and co-organizing international scientific workshops and symposia in the near future.
Academic discussions and strategic cooperation planning took place during the delegation’s visit and working session on June 17 at the University of Science, VNU-HCM.
In addition to promoting partnerships with the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics and the Faculty of Geology, the delegation from the National University of Laos expressed interest in expanding connections with other units within the university that share similar academic orientations, with the goal of establishing a comprehensive, long-term, and effective partnership.
Representatives from both sides emphasized that strengthening academic and research cooperation between the two universities not only contributes to academic development and high-quality human resource training, but also helps reinforce the long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos. In the face of global and regional challenges, such joint initiatives between universities are expected to serve as a vital foundation for sustainable development in the knowledge era.
