On 11 August 2026, the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, University of Science, VNU-HCM, organized a review session for the proposed undergraduate program in Robotics Engineering. The session marked an important step in the preparation for launching a new academic program designed to address the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

Developing an Academic Program for the Future Workforce
The development of the Robotics Engineering program represents an important direction in expanding the academic offerings of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics while responding proactively to the increasing demand for high-quality human resources in advanced technology sectors.
As robots and automated systems become increasingly integrated into manufacturing, healthcare, services, and other areas of society, the demand for professionals with interdisciplinary expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, control systems, programming, artificial intelligence, and sensor technologies continues to grow.
The proposed program therefore represents not only an expansion of educational opportunities for students but also the University’s commitment to aligning higher education with labor-market needs, emerging technological trends, and the evolving requirements of modern industry.
The review session was attended by the Program Review Council, comprising experienced experts, scientists, and academic and educational leaders from relevant fields.
During the session, the Council discussed and evaluated key components of the proposed program, including its educational objectives, learning outcomes, curriculum structure, course content, interdisciplinary orientation, practical and experimental components, and alignment with workforce needs in robotics and automation.
The Council’s professional assessments and recommendations provide important input for further refining the proposal and developing an undergraduate program that is academically rigorous, modern, practice-oriented, and responsive to the evolving demands of higher education and emerging technologies.

The Robotics Engineering program is expected to admit its first cohort in 2027, providing a new academic pathway for students interested in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced engineering technologies.
