Notice

Register to major in the Class of 2021 in Physics

The Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics students of the 2021 class (and the 2020 class who have not yet entered the major) about registering for the major as follows:

1. Students register for the major by filling out the online major registration form: https://forms.gle/1PmHGV8Yg8HWkWQK9.

2. Deadline for submitting ballots: Students register online from the date of announcement to 4:00 p.m. July 20, 2023.

3. Students do not need to submit academic transcripts. Faculty staff will receive study results from the Training Department after having full exam results of the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year. The results of majors will be announced on the faculty website before the registration date for semester I 2023-2024.

4. Students choose 1 of 7 majors with 3 aspirations. If you do not qualify for choice 1, then major in choice 2 or 3 (if eligible). The Faculty will base on the average academic score and the number of credits accumulated in the first 4 semesters for selection.

5. If a student has an academic average <5.0 or the number of outstanding credits is more than 15 credits, they will not be considered for admission to the major this time. The student must retake the outstanding courses and will be considered for admission. majors in the July 2024 batch along with the 2022 batch.

Notes:

- Students must think carefully before choosing a major. The Faculty will not handle cases of changing (switching) majors after the official decision.

Plan and process for considering majors for the Class of 2021 in Physics 

I. Plan for considering majors for the Class of 2021, Physics

1. Notice of major registration: July 7, 2023. Announce on the faculty website and email the registration link to students.

2. Students submit the registration form for major consideration online on the link from July 7, 2023 to July 20, 2023.

3. The faculty department compiles the registration form and retrieves the learning results from the Training Department after having the full exam results of the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year.

4. Meeting of the Dean Board and Heads of Departments to review the list of majors: From August 1-4, 2023.

5. Announcement of specialized examination results on the faculty website from August 7-15, 2023.

 

II. Specialization process for the Class of 2021, Physics 

1. Notification of major registration for students on the faculty website.

2. Students submit the major registration form online on the link.

3. The faculty compiles the registration form and retrieves the students' academic results for the first 2 years of the course from the Training Department. Make a list according to each wish and rank it in order of priority (Academic GPA, number of credits owed, basic subjects) of each major. Estimated number of recruitment for each major.

4. Meeting with the Dean Board and Heads of Departments to review the list of majors.

5. Announce the results of majors on the faculty website, respond to students' questions.

6. Make a decision on the list of majors, officially announce it to students and send a list of students for each subject.

III. Conditions for considering majors for the Class of 2021: Physics

1. The average academic score of the first 4 semesters must be above 5.0.

2. The number of outstanding credits must not exceed 15 credits/total credits of 4 semesters (70 credits)

3. Based on the number of students registered for each major according to aspirations 1, 2 and 3, based on the students' academic results, the Faculty Board of Directors will approve the number of students entering each major. The order of priority for approval is: Average academic score, number of outstanding credits, number of basic subjects studied and passed, exam results of prerequisite subjects, English courses studied.

4. Students who are not considered for admission to the major during the main semester will retake the outstanding courses and will be considered for admission to the major along with the next course.
