Seminar Topic: Photonics in 2D Materials and Applications

Abstract: The seminar will provide an overview of nonlinear optical phenomena, focusing on second-harmonic generation (SHG) in two-dimensional (2D) materials and heterostructures. The presentation will explore optimization techniques for enhancing SHG through layer stacking and strain engineering.
In addition, the speaker will introduce open-source software tools developed for simulating resonant Raman spectra - an essential approach for probing the electronic and phonon properties of materials. The two main codes, QERaman and QR2-code, are currently available on GitHub.
This seminar offers a valuable opportunity for students, graduate researchers, and young scientists to explore emerging research trends and advanced simulation tools in the field of materials science.
