RECEIVING THE DELEGATION FROM THE JOINT INSTITUTE FOR NUCLEAR RESEARCH DUBNA

On October 18, the University of Science, VNU-HCM (HCMUS) welcomed a delegation from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Dubna (JINR), led by Dr. Dmitri Kamanin, Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department.

The University of Science was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Triet, Vice Rector of the University; Dr. Vo Hong Hai, Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Tuan, Head of the Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics, and representatives from related units.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Triet warmly welcomed the JINR delegation to HCMUS on behalf of the University's leadership, expressing hope for further cooperation and development opportunities between the two institutions.

During the meeting, HCMUS provided an overview of the University, specifically focusing on the Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics and the Department of Nuclear Physics - Nuclear Engineering - Medical Physics. Dr. Dmitri Kamanin introduced the remarkable activities, missions, and important research conducted by JINR, giving the delegates a better understanding of the Institute's scale and influence in the international nuclear research arena.

A key aspect of JINR's visit was the Workshop for young Vietnamese researchers, where JINR experts shared valuable experiences in various fields. Topics included existing accelerator facilities and equipment, materials science at the IBR-2 reactor, research related to radiation biology, and capacity building and training programs implemented by JINR.

The meeting fostered a friendly and constructive atmosphere of cooperation. It aimed to facilitate networking and create practical opportunities for cooperation in nuclear science research, contributing to the development of science and technology both domestically and internationally.
