University of Science, VNU-HCM Signs Cooperation Agreement with Festo to Strengthen University–Industry Collaboration in Education and Training

On August 10, the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and Festo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new milestone in university–industry collaboration and reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing the quality of education, practical training, scientific research, and the development of highly qualified human resources to meet the demands of modern industry.

The partnership focuses on practical and impactful activities that leverage the University’s strengths in education and research while drawing on Festo’s industry expertise, technological capabilities, and practical insights. Through this collaboration, both parties aim to foster an increasingly modern learning and research environment, while expanding opportunities for faculty members and students to gain exposure to advanced technologies, innovative training approaches, and real-world industry requirements.

Under the MoU, Festo will provide equipment to support teaching, practical training, and scientific research at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics. In addition, the two parties will collaborate on the development and implementation of training programs and E-learning courses in accordance with international standards, contributing to greater practical relevance and international integration in education and training.

Another key area of cooperation is supporting student internships at enterprises, providing students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience, strengthen their professional skills, and become familiar with professional working environments. This also enables students to gain a clearer understanding of labor market expectations and proactively develop the professional competencies needed for their future careers while still at university.

In terms of professional expertise, Festo will collaborate with the University in providing consultation on technical solutions and advising on the development of practical training facilities, laboratories, and academic programs aligned with technological trends and industry needs. The two parties also plan to jointly organize seminars, conferences, roundtable discussions, academic forums, and professional exchange activities, promoting the sharing of knowledge and expertise while strengthening engagement among faculty members, students, industry experts, and business representatives.

As part of the partnership, Festo has provided the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics with an equipment package valued at VND 120 million. This contribution will help strengthen the infrastructure supporting education and research, while providing faculty members and students with greater access to modern equipment and technologies, thereby enhancing their practical training and research capabilities.

The signing of the MoU with Festo represents an important step forward in the University of Science, VNU-HCM’s commitment to strengthening university–industry collaboration. By connecting the expertise, technological resources, and industry experience of the enterprise with the University’s educational and research capabilities, the partnership aims to generate tangible benefits for students, faculty members, and scientific and technological activities.

With a strong commitment to a student-centered approach and practice-oriented education, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics and the University of Science, VNU-HCM will continue to expand their network of industry partnerships and progressively develop a learning environment that is modern, practice-oriented, and aligned with international standards. Through these efforts, students will have greater opportunities to learn alongside emerging technologies, gain real-world experience, and develop the competencies needed to confidently meet the demands of the future labor market.
