On September 23, VNUHCM-University of Science held a working session with Military Hospital 175 to discuss opportunities and strategic directions for collaboration in education, scientific research, and technology application, while also reaching a consensus on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions.
The University delegation was led by Prof. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Vice President of VNUHCM-University of Science, and included representatives from the Office of External Relations and faculty members from the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Nguyen Van Ba, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, together with physicians, engineers, and representatives from the Hospital’s specialized departments.
Building on a partnership established in 2015, the two institutions discussed directions for renewing and expanding their collaboration in response to current educational, research, and technological needs. The proposed areas of cooperation include student observation visits and internships, co-supervision of undergraduate theses, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations, as well as the development and implementation of joint research projects.
Particular attention was given to strengthening application-oriented research and technology development in areas with significant potential for healthcare applications, including medical image processing, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, quality assurance (QA), artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, data management, and measurement technologies. These areas provide opportunities to connect fundamental scientific knowledge with practical challenges in healthcare and to translate research outcomes into applicable technological solutions.
The working session also highlighted the importance of fostering closer collaboration between the academic and healthcare sectors. By connecting the University’s expertise in education and scientific research with the Hospital’s clinical and technological environment, the partnership is expected to create valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge, develop practical competencies, and pursue collaborative research.
