On the morning of September 4, 2026, the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Q.I.S Non-Destructive Testing Services Co., Ltd. (Q.I.S), strengthening collaboration between the University and the industry sector in education, research, and high-quality human resource development.

Representing the University of Science at the ceremony was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Quan, President of the University, together with representatives from the Office of External Relations and the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, as well as faculty members and staff. Representing Q.I.S was Mr. Le Van Nghi, Chairman and General Director, accompanied by representatives from the company's divisions.
Under the MoU, the two parties will strengthen cooperation in hands-on training and human resource development for students of the Faculty of Physics & Engineering Physics and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology.
Key areas of cooperation include:
- Providing annual scholarships for third-year and final-year students who face financial difficulties and demonstrate outstanding academic performance;
- Offering hands-on training at Q.I.S during the summer semester, giving students opportunities to gain practical experience in a professional working environment and pursue international certifications in accordance with ASNT/PCN/ISO 9712 standards, while also facilitating employment opportunities upon completion of the training program;
- Collaborating on practical projects, enabling students to apply their academic knowledge, strengthen professional competencies, gain hands-on experience, and better respond to the requirements of the labor market.

Through these activities, students will have greater opportunities to connect academic knowledge with real-world industry requirements, thereby developing the professional competencies and practical skills needed for their future careers.
The signing ceremony marks the continuation and expansion of the partnership between the University of Science and Q.I.S. Under the renewed agreement, the cooperation period has been extended from three years to five years, reflecting the long-term commitment of both parties to collaboration in education, research, and human resource development.
Strengthening partnerships with enterprises is an important part of the University's efforts to enhance educational quality, expand opportunities for experiential learning, and create broader career pathways for students, while fostering stronger connections among higher education, scientific research, and the development needs of society.
